Qualifications

  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Cut and sew upholstery fabrics according to patterns, measurements, and production specifications.
  • Operate industrial sewing machines and related upholstery equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assemble and stitch fabric components using appropriate sewing techniques.
  • Follow patterns, work instructions, and specifications to ensure accurate and consistent results.
  • Measure and cut materials accurately to minimize waste.
  • Inspect fabric components and finished pieces for defects or quality concerns.
  • Identify issues with stitching, measurements, fit, or appearance.
  • Perform repairs and rework as needed to meet quality standards.
  • Ensure finished products meet appearance, fit, and durability requirements.
  • Move fabrics, materials, and finished products throughout the department.
  • Prepare and package completed products for shipment or storage.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient workstation.
  • Properly store materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of sewing and cutting equipment.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting when equipment issues arise.
  • Report equipment problems to supervision promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Communicate quality concerns, material issues, and production challenges to supervisors or team leads.
  • Assist with other departmental duties and cross-training as needed.

Position Title: Industrial Sewing Machine Operator Wage: $18.00 - $24.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am - 4:30pm

We are seeking an experienced Pattern Cutter / Industrial Sewing Machine Operator to join an upholstery manufacturing team in Elkhorn, WI. This position is responsible for cutting, sewing, and assembling fabric components used in custom furniture products. The ideal candidate will have prior industrial sewing, upholstery, or pattern-cutting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Industrial Sewing Machine Operator Responsibilities:
