Job summary

Permobil is seeking an Industrial Sewing Associate for the 2nd shift in New Berlin. Safely operate industrial sewing machines, follow work orders, and assemble quality parts in a timely fashion.

We require a high school diploma or equivalent, prior sewing/manufacturing experience, and good English reading/writing skills. The role offers $16–$18/hour plus a $0.50 shift differential, full-time schedule, and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate industrial sewing machines to sew products per specifications.
• Read and follow work orders via EDO and tickets to assemble quality parts.
• Maintain daily production log and track weekly sewing output above 90%.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and minor adjustments.
• Maintain stock of Velcro, buckles, zippers, and related hardware.
• Ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Your Role in Our Mission

Safely operateindustrial sewing machines to sew all products in accordance with companyperformance and quality standards.

Read and follow work order specifications via Electronic Distribution of Orders (EDO) & order hard copies and/or white tickets to build and assemble quality parts in an accurate and timely fashion.

Sew material according to product specifications.

Operate all industrial sewing machines including single needle.

Make minor machine adjustments.

Meet QC standards in sewing operations.

Perform routine machine maintenance.

Flip completed covers.

Maintain daily log on completed work.

Maintain weekly sewing production percentage above 90%.

Log cutting errors, such as too long, notches not cut, etc.

Monitor and stock work area with Velcro, buckles, zippers, zipper pulls and common loop.

Follow and comply with all safety, work rules, regulations, ISO procedures, lean Initiatives and lean events.

Assist in other departments, as needed, to ensure products are completed on time.

Maintain Kanban System and participate in cycle counts

Maintains quality service by: Meeting/Exceeding all measurements ofperformance: quality, accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness of workperformed.

Contributes to team effort by: Maintaining a good attendancerecord; accomplishing related results as needed; having on call listresponsibility.

Highlight cross-functional collaboration and ownership.

Emphasize continuous improvement and efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Prior industrial sewing experience preferred.

Experience working with Juki sewing machines preferred.

Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).

Ability to read a tape measure.

Ability to read, write, and understand instruction detail written and communicated in English.

Good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees and supervisor.

Ability to read and interpretdocuments such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, andprocedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employeesof the organization.

Abilityto define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws validconclusions.

Basic computer knowledge and ability to navigate the internet to access company portals preferred.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Strong problem-solving mindset.

Pay Transparency

The expected pay range for this role is $16.00 – $18.00 per hour . Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity.
