Job summary

VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC is seeking a field technician to perform hazardous and non-hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, decontamination, tank cleaning, and confined space work from our Milwaukee facility.

You will operate pumps, vacuums, and other equipment while following Health and Safety policies, with occasional evenings and weekends and some travel required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Confined space entry certification preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment criteria.
• This position is full-time with day shifts, some evenings and weekends.
• Some travel is expected.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety policies and processes are followed.
• Operate light and heavy equipment including pumps, vacuum equipment, generators, pressure washers, skid loaders, and power tools.
• Perform work activities related to chemical, oil, and water spills.
• Work in atmospheres with exposure to chemicals and other hazardous agents.
• Work in confined spaces above/below ground and on/under equipment.
• Work at elevations, ladders, scaffolding, and power lifts.
• Complete daily worksheets, tailgate safety sheets, vehicle inspections, equipment inspections, and health and safety permits.
• Read and understand procedures and safety information.
• Drive company vehicle to and from customer worksite.

The purpose of this position, based out of our Milwaukee facility, is to perform tasks associated with hazardous and non‑hazardous waste clean‑up, site remediation, facility & equipment decontamination, above ground and underground tank cleaning activities, and confined space entry projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that Health and Safety policies and processes are followed as well as acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Operate light and heavy equipment including, but not limited to: pumps, vacuum equipment, generators, pressure washers, skid loaders, and hand power tools.
• Perform work activities related to chemical, oil, and water spills.
• Work in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some may be hazardous, toxic, or corrosive.
• Working in confined spaces above & below ground and on & under equipment.
• Working at elevations including working from ladders, scaffolding, and power lifts.
• Completion of associated paperwork, including but not limited to daily worksheets, tailgate safety sheets, vehicle inspections. equipment inspections, and Health and Safety requirements & permits.
• Effectively complete forms and read and understand procedures and safety information.
• Drive company vehicle to and from customer worksite.

Qualifications

• Hold a Valid Drivers License

• This position is full‑time. Work hours will generally be day shifts, with some evenings and weekends.
• Some travel is expected with this position.
