Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced security professional in Virginia to interpret policy for government customers, develop compliant security programs, and maintain security metrics. You will assist with public trust investigations, manage DD254 processing, and coordinate with internal/external teams to ensure compliance with NISPOM and Federal programs.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and review security policy from government customers.
  • Develop, administer, and audit security programs for compliance with government regulations and contract requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security metric reports.
  • Provide day-to-day security support, assess procedures, identify shortfalls, and recommend improvements.
  • Support contractual security requirements for Public Trust and DoD collateral classified programs.
  • Assist candidates through public trust background investigations (eApp, fingerprints, documentation, shipping, government submission).
  • Notify program staff of pertinent security matters.
  • Review paperwork for completeness and accuracy before submission.
  • Maintain the internal security database.
  • Support FSO functions, including processing DD254s and initiating personnel clearances.
  • Attend meetings to provide security-processing statuses.
  • Collaborate with team on solution design and process improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to NISPOM and Federal Customer Security Programs.

Job description

  • Interpret and review security policy from government customers
  • Develop, administer, and audit security programs for compliance with government regulations and contract requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security metric reports
  • Provide day-to-day security support, continuously assess procedures, identify shortfalls, and recommend improvements to security policies, procedures, and systems
  • Support contractual security requirements for Public Trust and DoD collateral classified programs
  • Assist candidates through the public trust background investigation process, including eApp, electronic and hard-copy fingerprints, required documentation, shipping, tracking, and government submission
  • Notify program technical and management staff of pertinent security matters
  • Review paperwork and documentation for completeness and accuracy before government submission
  • Maintain the internal security database
  • Support FSO functions, including processing Prime and Sub DD254s and validating or initiating personnel security clearances
  • Attend meetings with internal and external customers to provide security-processing statuses
  • Work with team members on solution design, processes, and approaches
  • Ensure adherence to NISPOM and other Federal Customer Security Programs
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience; additional years experience may be used in lieu of a degree
  • DOD Secret Clearance and ability to obtain a Top Secret
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to enter data efficiently, timely and correctly in order to meet deadlines
  • Highly organized with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experienced in working in a dynamic work environment, supporting several tasks at once, with potential for short deadlines
  • Proven ability as a self-starter who can work independently to deliver the highest value to customers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Outstanding customer service dealing with all levels of management internally and externally
  • Practical knowledge of and experience with DISS, eApp and NP2 Portal
  • Working knowledge of SIMS
  • Experience supporting multiple customers at one time with differing Security Requirements
  • Computer literacy; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and data entry
