Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Scaffold Builder Helper for on-site work in Freeport, TX, assisting Scaffold Builders with construction, maintenance, and dismantling of tubular scaffolding. You will transport materials, hoist equipment, and help secure structures while following OSHA and site rules.

Ideal candidates have 6+ months in an industrial setting, a valid TWIC card, and a valid driver's license. This is a full-time, on-site role focused on safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial settings is preferred (6+ months).
• Must be able to work at heights and in variable conditions.
• Able to read and understand safety procedures and instructions.
• Must demonstrate reliability and willingness to follow supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Work at heights with no fear.
• Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold as instructed by the scaffold builder.
• Hoists scaffolding materials upward to erect a temporary structure.
• Secure and level locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Secure scaffold to permanent structure for added stability.
• Adhere to OSHA, site-specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
• Pass materials and tools to Journeyman as needed.
• Dismantles scaffolding when instructed.
• Build barricades around excavation or equipment as needed.
• Confined space attendant.
• Fire watch.
• Equipment watches attendant.
• Other duties as assigned.
