Job summary

Chicago Tube and Iron Company, Locust, NC, is seeking a Saw Operator to safely operate saws and related equipment in the warehouse environment. You will process, package and load material, contributing to efficient production flow.

The role requires basic math and computer skills, experience with shop tools, and the ability to read blueprints or shop drawings. Regular lifting up to 50 pounds and standing 6–8 hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical aptitude; manufacturing or fabrication experience is a plus.
• Experience with standard shop tools and inspection measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, and micrometers).
• Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, side loaders, saws, banding, and/or order packing is highly preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to read blueprints/ shop drawings is a plus.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk 6-8 hours per day.
• Ability to regularly maneuver up to 50 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate saw, or other equipment to process, package, and load.
• Operate forklift, Raymond side loader, and overhead crane to move material in the warehouse.
• Load and unload trucks using handling equipment, place materials in storage locations.
• May receive/inspect and verify the material count.
