Job summary

Deimco Finishing Equipment is seeking a Sales Engineer to bridge complex engineering capabilities with B2B client needs across North America. You will analyze coating, handling, and throughput needs, design custom configurations, and present advanced automation capabilities to close multi-stakeholder industrial contracts.

You will travel to client facilities, work from a home office with semi-remote arrangements, and collaborate with engineering, procurement, and fabrication teams to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer/Applications Engineer in heavy machinery or automation.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with powder coating, finishing systems, or related processes is a plus.
• Excellent communication for technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Consult with client engineers, procurement teams, and plant managers to analyze layouts and requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, ROI data, and specifications for custom projects.
• Deliver technical presentations explaining mechanics, fluid handling, and PLC/automation benefits.
• Lead the technical components of long, specification-driven sales cycles to contract closure.
• Coordinate with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure customer needs are engineered into the final line.
• Identify and nurture B2B sales leads in key manufacturing verticals such as metals, wood finishing, plastics, aerospace, and automotive.
