Job summary

Innomotive Solutions Group is seeking an Industrial & Sales Engineer to evaluate customer requirements, support sales and estimating activities, and drive manufacturing improvements. The role bridges customer needs with manufacturing capabilities to ensure technically sound and efficient solutions.

The position emphasizes labor standards, process optimization, and cost reduction while enhancing quality and delivery performance.

Qualifications

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, or manufacturing process optimization preferred.
  • Experience supporting quoting, estimating, or customer-facing technical activities preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience within manufacturing, fire apparatus, emergency vehicles, sheet metal fabrication, or related industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support Sales and Customer Account Specialists during customer discussions and project development.
  • Review customer specifications and assist with developing technical solutions that align with FMI capabilities.
  • Assist with estimating labor requirements, material needs, and project costs.
  • Provide technical support throughout the quoting and order review process.
  • Identify standardization opportunities that improve competitiveness and profitability.
  • Develop labor standards, routings, and work instructions for manufacturing operations.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and workflows to improve productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Perform line balancing and capacity analysis activities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Conduct value stream mapping exercises and implement future-state improvements.
  • Develop key performance indicators and measurement systems supporting operational excellence.
  • Analyze production data and identify opportunities for cost reduction and throughput improvements.
  • Evaluate and justify capital equipment investments through ROI analysis.
  • Improve product manufacturability through collaboration with Design Engineering.
  • Work with production personnel to identify and eliminate recurring issues.
  • Develop fixtures, tooling, and process improvements that improve manufacturing performance.

Job purpose

The Industrial & Sales Engineer is responsible for evaluating customer requirements, supporting sales and estimating activities, developing manufacturing standards, improving production processes, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs while improving quality and delivery performance. This position acts as a bridge between customer needs and manufacturing capabilities by ensuring proposed solutions are both technically sound and operationally efficient.

Duties and responsibilities
Sales & Customer Support

Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, technical sales, or process improvement experience preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, or manufacturing process optimization preferred.
  • Experience supporting quoting, estimating, or customer-facing technical activities preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience within manufacturing, fire apparatus, emergency vehicles, sheet metal fabrication, or related industries is a plus.
Working conditions
  • Moderate noise (i.e., business offices with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
Physical requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate.
Additional Information
  • Monday through Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm schedule
  • Onsite Position
  • Pay starting at $60,000.00 / year
