Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Safety Technician to join our team in La Porte, TX. The role focuses on maintaining a safe work environment by conducting regular safety inspections, guiding workers, and enforcing PPE usage.

The position requires 2+ years of safety program experience and compliance with OSHA regulations. The candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and CSST/OSHA 30 certification, and be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as

Qualifications

2+ years of previous experience in Safety Technician role implementing and overseeing aspects related to an environmental, health and safety program.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations.
Provide guidance on safety procedures and practices to workers and supervisors.
Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and programs.
Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce its proper use.
Investigate safety incidents and accidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks to improve safety awareness among employees.
Maintain safety records and reports, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Respond to safety concerns or emergencies and take appropriate action as needed.
