Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, training workers on PPE and procedures, enforcing safety policies, and documenting findings with corrective actions. OSHA 30 and CSST are preferred, along with a valid driver’s license.

• Experience: 2+ years as Safety Technician or in related EH&S roles.
• Experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health and safety programs.
• Must have OSHA 30, CSST and a valid driver’s license.

Austin Industrial is currently seeking a Safety Technician to join our staff located at La Porte, TX. They must be able to engage in a critical role in ensuring a safe work environment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations.
• Provide guidance on safety procedures and practices to workers and supervisors.
• Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and programs.
• Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce its proper use.
• Investigate safety incidents and accidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks to improve safety awareness among employees.
• Maintain safety records and reports, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
• Respond to safety concerns or emergencies and take appropriate action as needed.
• Other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 2+ years of previous experience in Safety Technician role implementing and overseeing aspects related to an environmental, health and safety program.

Requirements :

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• CSST, OSHA 30
• Meet physical demands as listed above
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed by the assigned location
• Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
