Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is seeking a Rigger for a Midland, NC project. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3 months.

The role involves selecting and rigging loads, coordinating with crane operators, and maintaining safe work practices across industrial settings in the Southeast. The position requires regular attendance and may involve significant travel.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Complete all required SIC safety and general job training.
• Observe SIC and customer safety and quality processes at all times.

Responsibilities

• Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves based on load weight and size.
• Attach pulley and blocks to overhead structures with bolts and clamps.
• Secure loads with grappling devices to crane hooks.
• Direct Crane Operator during hoisting using signals, loudspeaker, or phone.
• Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment.
• Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.
• Coordinate movement of equipment and materials per signals and directions.
• Rate information using measurable standards.
• Detect and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
• Travel as needed; maintain regular attendance.
• Perform other duties as required.
