Job summary

JBS Prepared Foods is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, boiler rooms, and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to repairs, and coordinate shutdowns to minimize downtime.

This role requires 12-hour shifts, weekend coverage, and strict adherence to LOTO and safety protocols. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in refrigeration or boiler environments, SCBA certification, and strong maintenance and electrical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Two years in refrigeration or boiler room preferred.
• SCBA certification for Haz-Mat.
• Able to read and write in English and operate a computer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and complete work orders and preventive maintenance paperwork.
• Keep a log of breakdowns and corrective actions.
• Complete daily rounds on all equipment, including weekends and holidays.
• Schedule shutdowns for repairs without disrupting production.
• Troubleshoot equipment mechanically and electrically.
• Adhere to lockout-tagout procedures for all equipment.
