Job summary

JBS Foods is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, waste water/sewer, HVAC, and building maintenance in a fast-paced plant environment. The role combines hands-on technical work with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• At least two years in refrigeration or boiler room preferred.
• Operator 1 and Operator 2 preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of industrial maintenance and electrical functions.
• Able to read and write in English.
• Able to use a computer for the functions of the engine room and email.
• SCBA certification for Haz-Mat.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and complete work orders and preventive maintenance paperwork in a timely manner.
• Maintain a log book of all breakdowns and corrective actions taken.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required.
• Schedule shutdowns of equipment and machinery for repairs and maintenance without disrupting production.
• Troubleshoot equipment mechanically and electrically for any issues.
• Utilize time effectively to minimize downtime and repairs.
• Be safety-minded and follow lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Be a team player and seek guidance when needed.
• Be on call when needed and able to work alone if required.
• Receive and follow training on LOTO, fall protection, confined space, hot work, etc.
• Order materials and parts for stock or repairs.
• Maintain clean mechanical rooms at all times.
