Job summary

Trident Seafoods in Alaska is seeking a Refrigeration Operator II to maintain and operate industrial refrigeration systems, ensuring product temperatures meet quality standards.

You will perform preventative maintenance, log daily operations, and collaborate with QA/QC and maintenance teams in a fast-paced seafood processing environment. Strong troubleshooting, safety compliance, and the ability to work long shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-6+ years of industrial or commercial refrigeration experience (Freon or Ammonia) or substitution of 2 years experience as Refrigeration Operator 1.
• HS Diploma or equivalent, or training in a Refrigeration Technical Program.
• RETA CARO certification (or equivalent) must be obtainable within one year of employment; EPA Section 608 is optional; 24-Hour HAZWOPER certification optional.

Responsibilities

• Operate the refrigeration system following plant operating and maintenance procedures.
• Perform scheduled Mechanical Integrity Inspections (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
• Maintain daily system logs and records.
• Plan/perform routine maintenance and repairs with contractors or Refrigeration Technicians.
• Train Operator I’s and Refrigeration Assistants in daily activities.
• Review technical bulletins, service documents, and system schematics.
