Job summary

Nox Group is seeking a Quality Inspector to support mechanical construction projects across the US. You will read and interpret P&IDs, apply codes, perform inspections, and document test results to ensure compliance with project standards.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in mechanical, piping, welding, or industrial construction, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office. This role emphasizes meticulous documentation, safety, and collaboration with operations and commissioning teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in mechanical, piping, welding, or industrial construction.
• Excellent written and oral communication with project teams.
• Knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (ASME B31.1/3/9, ASME IX, AWS D1.1, MSS SP-58).
• Experience inspecting piping systems and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read P&IDs and mechanical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Self-starter with organized approach.

Responsibilities

• Understand mechanical scope, quality requirements, ITPs, and project quality plan.
• Coordinate with operations to schedule inspections and tests.
• Perform inspections per ITPs and witness points.
• Prepare inspection/test reports and maintain quality files.
• Verify inspections meet contract documents, codes, and standards.
• Interpret codes to determine compliance and escalate questions.
• Assist with test turnover docs and commissioning readiness.
• Organize quality documents per procedures.
• Identify, document, and report nonconforming work (NCRs).
• Perform receiving inspections of piping materials and equipment.
• Participate in task planning meetings.
• Review field conditions and propose corrective actions.
• Verify piping, welding, bolting, testing, flushing, and installation.
• Witness installation of rotating equipment per OEM requirements.
• Maintain weld/material traceability and NDE records.
• Use calibrated inspection tools and verify calibration.
• Identify safety hazards and follow stop-work when unsafe.
