Job summary

Nox Group is seeking a Quality Technician - Mechanical to support the QAQC Department on diverse Southwest projects. You will inspect mechanical installations, verify compliance with codes, and document results to ensure “First Class Work” across commercial, industrial, and water/wastewater facilities.

You will collaborate with operations and commissioning teams, maintain quality records, and escalate issues when needed, while ensuring safety and proper use of inspection tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (ASME B31.x, etc.) in construction.
• Experience inspecting piping systems, welding, and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read P&IDs, isometrics, drawings, and OEM manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Effective communicator with field teams and management.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of mechanical scope, quality requirements, ITPs, and QA documents.
• Coordinate with operations to schedule inspections without delaying project.
• Perform inspections per ITPs and enforce hold points.
• Prepare inspection/test reports and maintain quality files.
• Verify compliance with contract docs, codes, and standards.
• Issue NCRs and track corrective actions to closure.
• Assist with project turnover, commissioning readiness, and documentation storage.
• Identify and report nonconforming work and quality risks.
