About the Role

Our client, a reputable manufacturer in the automotive supply chain, is seeking a diligent and experienced Industrial Quality Engineer to join their team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role is essential for maintaining and improving the quality standards of our client's production processes and products. You will be responsible for implementing and managing quality control systems, conducting inspections, analyzing quality data, and driving corrective actions to prevent defects and ensure customer satisfaction. The position requires a hands-on approach and a commitment to excellence in a manufacturing setting. This role is based full-time at our facility in Queenstown, Eastern Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's quality management system (QMS) in line with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Conduct regular quality audits of production processes, equipment, and finished goods.
• Analyze quality data, identify root causes of defects, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Develop and oversee inspection and testing procedures, ensuring product quality meets specifications.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to address quality issues and improve processes.
• Manage customer complaints related to product quality and ensure timely resolution.
• Train production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Prepare quality reports, performance metrics, and trend analyses for management review.
• Participate in new product introduction (NPI) processes to ensure quality considerations are addressed.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven experience with quality management systems (QMS) and quality control tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, APQP).
• Knowledge of relevant quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
