Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer on-site in Queenstown to drive quality systems and process improvements. You will develop, implement, and maintain the QMS, lead CAPA actions, and collaborate across design, production, and procurement to ensure product quality throughout the lifecycle.

The role focuses on reducing defects, improving cycle times, and applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement within a growing manufacturing environment.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Quality Engineering.
• 3–5 years in industrial engineering with focus on quality systems and process improvement.
• Experience implementing ISO 9001 QMS.
• Strong knowledge of SPC, root cause analysis, and Six Sigma.
• Experience with process mapping, Lean, and workflow analysis.

About the Role

Our client, a growing manufacturing firm situated in Queenstown , Eastern Cape , is looking for an Industrial Engineer with a strong focus on quality systems and process improvement. This role is essential for maintaining and enhancing the company's quality standards while driving efficiency through process optimization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems, as well as identifying and executing process improvements that reduce defects and enhance product consistency. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping quality and efficiency initiatives within a dynamic organization in the Eastern Cape region. The position requires a full-time commitment on-site at the Queenstown facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's quality management system (QMS) in line with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Conduct root cause analysis for quality defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Lead process improvement projects aimed at reducing waste, improving cycle times, and enhancing product quality.
• Utilize statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor and control production processes.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions related to quality and process operations.
• Conduct internal audits of quality systems and production processes, reporting findings and recommending improvements.
• Train production staff on quality standards, procedures, and continuous improvement techniques.
• Analyze quality data and production metrics to identify trends and areas for proactive improvement.
• Collaborate with design, production, and procurement teams to ensure product quality throughout the lifecycle.
• Stay updated on quality management best practices and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a significant focus on quality systems management and process improvement.
• Proven experience in implementing and maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001.
• Strong knowledge of statistical tools and techniques, including SPC, root cause analysis, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with process mapping, workflow analysis, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in relevant software, including MS Office Suite and quality management software.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Queenstown , Eastern Cape , as the role requires full on-site dedication.
