Job summary

Voigt-Abernathy is a leading distributor and service provider of industrial rotating and process equipment in the Southeast. We seek an experienced Pump Mechanic to inspect, repair, rebuild, and test pumps and related equipment in our repair facility and at customer sites.

You will diagnose failures, read drawings, and maintain service records while upholding safety and quality standards. The role offers hands-on training, opportunities for advancement, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical failures on industrial pumps and rotating equipment.
• Inspect, disassemble, clean, rebuild, and reassemble pumps and related equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and complete pump overhauls.
• Install, align, and commission new pumping equipment.
• Read and interpret equipment drawings, manuals, and repair documentation.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate service records.
• Recommend repair options and replacement parts.
• Ensure all work complies with company quality standards and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and fellow team members.
• Assist with field service assignments as needed.
