Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Industrial team in Council Hill, Oklahoma. The APM supports profitably managing all administrative and field construction activities on assigned projects and typically reports to the Project Manager; some travel is required.

This role requires a relevant college degree and 2–5 years of construction project management experience, with a focus on LEAN principles and safety.

Qualifications

• Industry-related college degree required or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of construction project management experience.
• LEAN principles desirable; OSHA 10 or 30 preferred or willingness to obtain on hire.

Responsibilities

• Profitably manages small projects or assists on larger ones.
• Assists with creating/updating the project schedule.
• Negotiate and issue subcontract and vendor change orders.
• Prices and negotiates owner change orders.
• Approves subcontractor and vendor pay applications.
• Assists in preconstruction and buy-out processes.
• Drafts scopes of work for subcontracts/purchase orders.
• Assists in project plan preparation and updates.
• Monitors deliveries and schedule impacts.
• Ensures subcontracts/ amendments are issued and followed.
• Understands contract terms and scope.
• Resolves issues with subcontractors/vendors/architects/owners.
• Contributes to on-time completion with profitability.
• Oversees RFI process; coordinates with team; verifies impacts/pricing.
• Completes monthly project status reports (MPSR), owner billings, and risk assessments.
• Assists with project proposals/presentations.
