Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the Industrial team. The first project assignment location will be Council Hill, OK.

The APM assists in profitably managing all admin and field construction activities for assigned projects, typically reporting to the Project Manager and being open to some travel. Ideal candidates will have 2–5 years of construction project management experience, an industry-related college degree, and proficiency with MS Office and construction

Qualifications

• Requires 2–5 years of construction project management experience.
• LEAN principles experience desirable.
• OSHA 10 or 30 preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Profitably manages a small project independently or with PM oversight.
• Assists create/update the project schedule.
• Negotiates, issues and executes subcontract & vendor change orders within delegated authority.
• Prices and negotiates owner change orders.
• Approves subcontractor & vendor pay apps.
• Assists in preconstruction & buy-out processes.
• Drafts scopes of work for subcontracts / PO agreements.
• Participates in project planning & updates.
• Monitors material shipments & delivery impacts on schedule.
• Ensures subcontract agreements are issued and followed.
• Understands contract terms to keep work within scope.
• Resolves issues with subs, vendors, architects & owners.
• Contributes to on-time, profitable project completion.
• Oversees RFI process as needed; coordinates with project team.
• Completes monthly project status reports & owner billings.
• Assists with proposals & presentations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
