Job summary

Olsson in Lincoln or Omaha is seeking a summer 2027 intern for our Industrial Facilities Engineering and Design team. You will work alongside experienced engineers to assist with planning, design, and evaluation of process systems for diverse industrial projects.

This hands-on internship offers exposure to process calculations, equipment selection, and engineering studies, plus site visits and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering
• Familiarity with Aspen, ChemCAD, or other process modeling tools preferred but not required
• Coursework or experience with thermodynamics, mass transfer, and chemical reaction kinetics
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to contribute and work effectively in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Interest in industrial processes and process system design

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design, and evaluation of process systems for diverse industrial projects.
• Support process calculations, equipment selection, engineering studies, and technical documentation.
• Participate in site visits and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions that improve efficiency, safety, reliability, and sustainability.
