Job summary

Vertiv in California is seeking a field service technician to independently perform installation, preventive maintenance, testing, and startup support on industrial DC power systems, batteries, chargers, rectifiers, inverters, and UPS equipment.

Candidate should have a high school diploma and 2–5 years of related field service experience; an associate degree is preferred. Willingness to travel up to 50% and work flexible hours is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 2–5 years field service experience.
• Preferred associate degree or vocational credential in electrical/electronics technology.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC theory and battery fundamentals.
• Ability to read diagrams, manuals, and statements of work.
• Excellent written and verbal customer communication.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, and repair DC power systems and UPS gear.
• Perform preventive maintenance, testing, and startup support.
• Troubleshoot battery, charger, rectifier, inverter issues.
• Read diagrams and manufacturer manuals; document work and reports.
• Coordinate with site personnel and customers; supervise junior techs.
• Explain equipment condition and follow-up recommendations to customers.
• Adhere to safety and scheduling requirements.
