Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc., through its Silent-Aire division, seeks an industrial plumber for the 2nd shift to support manufacturing and installation of data center equipment. The role involves reading blueprints, using power tools, brazing and soldering copper pipe, and upholding safety standards on the shop floor.

Applicants should have proven industrial plumbing experience, the ability to work in small spaces and under pressure, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an industrial plumber with strong understanding of industrial plumbing systems.
• Shop work environment experience; able to exercise caution around hazards.
• Adherence to safety policies and consistent use of PPE such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots.
• Ability to work shift work, in small spaces, independently, and under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and solid interpersonal skills for a diverse working environment.
• Completion of college, vocational, or technical training preferred.
• Appropriate credentials and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assists Electricians, Welders, and Assemblers as necessary for projects as time allows.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Braze and solder copper pipe ½” – 4”.
• Maintains a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques.
• Ability to work with PVC pipe.
• Experience with power tools.
• Performs other assigned work as required.
• Must be able to read blueprints and follow SOPs.
