Job summary

Kroger is seeking an experienced Industrial Controls Technician to support PLC/HMI programming and the maintenance of automated plant systems in Lynchburg, VA. The role focuses on safe, efficient programming, calibration, and integration of control software and hardware.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, overseeing control system projects, and supporting predictive maintenance while adhering to SQF and company safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years PLC and HMI programming experience
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Sound working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic valves; sensors and switches
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Install, diagnose and repair electrical systems of industrial machinery
• Oversee full industrial control system project implementation
• Calibrate and troubleshoot control panels, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs
• Ensure compliance with Controls Change Management System
• Interface with PLCs and HMIs for ladder logic diagnosis
