Job summary

NPK International inc. is seeking a PLC Programmer to manage, maintain, and review automation and control systems for the manufacturing plant at Carencro. The role requires strong PLC/HMI experience, safety-minded execution, and documentation of all programming changes.

Responsibilities include performing PMs, repairing and troubleshooting electrical/control components, and ensuring adherence to OSHA and other regulatory requirements while collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Associates Degree in Electronics, Instrumentation and Controls or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 5 years hands on automation, controls and industrial electrical experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to OSHA, EPA, DEQ, DOT and other regulations as per company policies.
• Authority to shut down operations for safety reasons.
• Perform electrical & control repairs and troubleshooting on plant systems.
• Develop electrical control solutions for plant processes and improvements.
• Read and understand PLC code and modify operator interfaces (HMI).
• Maintain backups of PLC, HMI, SCADA, robot, and VFD systems.
