Job summary

DFA seeks a PLC & Instrumentation Technician to install, monitor, and repair PLC devices, HMIs, and related instrumentation across our manufacturing plant. You will work with minimal supervision, diagnose complex problems, and serve as a knowledgeable resource for the maintenance team.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting control systems, performing preventive maintenance, maintaining CMMS records, ensuring safe operations, and mentoring other technicians while staying current with new

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Trade/technical schooling in industrial automation, electricity-electronics, PLC preferred.
4–6 years of industrial maintenance electrical/PLC experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust control systems including PLCs, HMIs, and field devices.
Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust power and motor control systems and frequency drives.
Locate, diagnose, and repair problems causing downtime or poor performance.
Perform preventative/predictive maintenance to target zero downtime and high efficiency.
Monitor PLC devices and systems for functionality.
Test connections between PLC devices and equipment.
Maintain CMMS records and asset performance data.
Repair plant equipment and assist with setup of new utilities.
Provide technical support and mentor technicians/operators.
Document procedures and maintain change records.
Communicate with other departments about production issues.
Stay updated on new technologies and DFA GMP requirements.
