Job Description

Job Overview: Hourly wage of $32.07

The plant mechanic's role involves carrying out repairs, prefab work, preventative maintenance, and repair assessments across the entire plant site.

Job Responsibilities

1. Operate under the direction of plant supervision.
2. Perform repairs on structural and non-structural equipment around the MR Plant, including welding repairs and other non-mechanical duties.
3. Follow lockout procedures to ensure safety and maintain a debris-free work area.
4. Inspect equipment for damage or leaks, ensure guards are in place, and report issues accordingly.
5. Maintain inventories of maintenance supplies.
6. Assist plant personnel during staffing shortages or production needs.
7. Keep the work area clean and organized, and ensure tools and parts are properly stored after use.
8. Report dust emissions, fluid spills, or leaks from equipment or the plant.
9. Assist with mill service vehicle operations as a priority over other tasks when needed.
10. Maintain valid welding or trade certificates in good standing.
11. Follow all plant, torch, and equipment lockout procedures, including individual lockout protocols for each equipment unit.
12. Coordinate with suppliers for part orders, quotes, or fulfillment as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding experience with relevant certifications.
• Experience as an industrial mechanic.
