Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a Plant Maintenance role to support preventive and corrective maintenance across the worksite. The position requires hands-on maintenance of heavy equipment and adherence to safety standards.

The ideal candidate will perform inspections, troubleshooting, and minor repairs, while following MSHA/OSHA guidelines and keeping meticulous maintenance records. This entry-level to mid-level role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork within a mining/aggregate

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience in maintenance with heavy equipment preferred.
Willingness to learn mechanical fundamentals.
Safety procedures and MSHA/OSHA compliance required.

Responsibilities

Inspect equipment before and after shifts; perform scheduled preventative maintenance to prevent failures.
Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components (conveyors, idlers, pulleys, water pumps).
Perform structural repairs and replace wear parts using welding, cutting, and grinding equipment.
Follow MSHA/OSHA regulations and Lockout/Tagout procedures; maintain a hazard-free work area.
Observe crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify anomalies and perform minor adjustments.
Record and maintain service logs, lubrication reports, and maintenance records.
