Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking an entry-level General Maintenance helper to assist with general tasks around the worksite. Under supervision, you will support minor maintenance and learn basic job functions, with a focus on safety and potential long-term development within the company.

You will participate in inspections, perform basic repairs, and keep accurate maintenance logs while complying with MSHA and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Experience in maintenance is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of safety procedures (MSHA/OSHA) and LOTO is important.
• Willingness to learn mechanical and maintenance fundamentals under supervision.
• Exposure to preventative maintenance processes and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre- and post-shift equipment inspections and perform preventative maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components, including belts, pulleys, and pumps.
• Perform structural repairs and basic welding/cutting tasks as needed.
• Follow MSHA/OSHA regulations and execute Lockout/Tagout protocols.
• Observe operation areas for anomalies and log maintenance records.
