Austin Industrial is seeking a skilled pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems for industrial production and processing. Lake Charles, LA-based, with a focus on oil, gas, chemical, and manufacturing sectors. Responsibilities include cutting, threading, attaching pipes, and installing automatic controls.

Must have 3-5 years journeyman experience and valid driver’s license; NCCER, TWIC, and DL certifications preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years journeyman level experience.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsabilités

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Select pipe sizes and types and related materials according to specifications.
• Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems and equipment following specifications.
• Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and to ensure that holes will not cause structural weakness.
• Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded manholes, basements, or facility floors.
• Dip nonferrous piping materials in a mixture of molten tin and lead to obtain a coating that prevents erosion or galvanic action.
• Other duties as assigned.
