Job summary

MasTec is seeking a Helper to assist journeymen in planning, layout, installation, testing and repair of construction systems and components. This role involves reading measurements, interpreting drawings, and using hand and power tools to fit pipe systems on industrial projects.

The candidate should have 2–3 years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and be capable of working under supervision with safety as a priority. On-site shifts and potential overtime are required.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in construction craft roles as helper or laborer, or a combination of work experience and training, and a basic knowledge of the craft assigned.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret measuring tools to perform tasks accurately.
• Fully understand Plant North and drawing coordinates.
• Perform tasks including threading, beveling, and cutting pipe.
• Use hand and power tools to fit and install pipe and related components.
• Assist in installing valves, couplings and fittings; disassemble damaged pipe.
• Produce quality work meeting plans and standards.
• Interact with installation crews to move materials and equipment.
• Perform daily safety checks to ensure equipment is safe to operate.
