Job summary

Gulf Coast Industrial is seeking an experienced Painter to apply industrial coatings safely and efficiently on structures, tanks, piping and related surfaces across the Southeast. This role involves equipment setup, mixing and thinning coatings, and maintaining spray equipment.

You will perform onsite QA/QC, follow safety protocols, and help with loading/unloading and storage of supplies, contributing to high-quality workmanship and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Highly productive with experience across multiple crafts and expert in handling coatings application equipment.
• Proficient in spraying to ensure even milage.
• Knowledge of different coatings (Epoxy, urethanes, polyesters, vinylesters).
• Knowledge of Hazardous waste management.
• Proficient in safety aspects of the craft.
• Proficient in QA/QC requirements of the craft.

Responsibilities

• Applies coatings to various structures, tanks, piping, and other surfaces per customer specs and manufacturer recommendations.
• Assembles, maintains, repairs, and cleans painting equipment.
• Mixes and thins coatings according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Constructs protective enclosures to prevent overspray of customer equipment.
• Assists in loading, unloading, and storage of equipment and supplies.
• Performs onsite QA/QC functions, including paperwork and evaluation of employees.

Job Summary

The Painter must effectively and safely perform coatings application and all associated phases of industrial coatings.

• Applies coatings to various structures, tanks, piping, and miscellaneous surfaces in accordance with customers' specifications and manufacturers' recommendations.
• Assembles, maintains, repairs, and cleans painting equipment.
• Mix and thin the coatings according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
• Construct protective enclosures to avoid overspray of customers' equipment.
• Assist in loading, unloading, and storage of equipment and supplies.
• At all times perform work in the safest possible manner.
• Immediately correct any unsafe condition.
• Perform onsite QA/QC functions, including paperwork and evaluation of employees.

Requirements and Education

• The painter must be highly productive, experienced in the multiple crafts involved, and be an expert in the mechanic and use of all equipment, materials, and procedures necessary for the safe and effective application of coatings.
• They must be proficient in spraying to maintain even milage.
• Must possess knowledge of and have experience in different coatings. (Epoxy, urethanes, polyesters, vinylesters.)
• Must have knowledge of Hazardous waste management.
• Must be proficient in all Safety aspects of their craft.
• Must be proficient in QA/QC requirements of their craft.
