Job summary

Gulf Coast Industrial seeks a Painter to effectively and safely perform coatings application and all related phases of industrial coatings. You will apply coatings to tanks, piping, and structures per customer specs, assemble and maintain spray equipment, and mix coatings as required.

The role emphasizes on-site safety, adherence to manufacturer recommendations, and QA/QC duties including paperwork and team evaluation. Prior multi-craft experience and knowledge of various coatings are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be highly productive and expert in the mechanic and use of all equipment, materials, and procedures for safe coatings application.
• Proficient in spraying to maintain even milage.
• Knowledge of Epoxy, urethanes, polyesters, vinylesters coatings.

Responsibilities

• Applies coatings to various structures, tanks, piping, and surfaces per specifications.
• Assembles, maintains, repairs, and cleans painting equipment.
• Mix and thin coatings per manufacturer recommendations.
• Construct protective enclosures to avoid overspray.
• Assist in loading, unloading, and storage of equipment and supplies.
• Perform work in the safest possible manner and correct unsafe conditions.
• Perform onsite QA/QC functions, including paperwork and evaluation of employees.

Job Summary

The Painter must effectively and safely perform coatings application and all associated phases of industrial coatings.

• Applies coatings to various structures, tanks, piping, and miscellaneous surfaces in accordance with customers' specifications and manufacturers' recommendations.
• Assembles, maintains, repairs, and cleans painting equipment.
• Mix and thin the coatings according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
• Construct protective enclosures to avoid overspray of customers' equipment.
• Assist in loading, unloading, and storage of equipment and supplies.
• At all times perform work in the safest possible manner.
• Immediately correct any unsafe condition.
• Perform onsite QA/QC functions, including paperwork and evaluation of employees.

Requirements and Education

• The painter must be highly productive, experienced in the multiple crafts involved, and be an expert in the mechanic and use of all equipment, materials, and procedures necessary for the safe and effective application of coatings.
• They must be proficient in spraying to maintain even milage.
• Must possess knowledge of and have experience in different coatings. (Epoxy, urethanes, polyesters, vinylesters.)
• Must have knowledge of Hazardous waste management.
• Must be proficient in all Safety aspects of their craft.
• Must be proficient in QA/QC requirements of their craft.
