Job summary

giwx is seeking a skilled painter for routine and preventive maintenance in a heavy industrial environment. You will sandblast and paint steel structures, prep surfaces, mix coatings, and use spray equipment.

The role involves working independently and as part of a crew, with emphasis on safety and quality control. Two to three years of progressive painting experience in industrial settings is preferred, along with SSPC certifications being advantageous.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of painting and sandblasting in heavy industrial environments.
• Understanding of industrial paint specifications and coating processes.
• Ability to measure paint thickness and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sandblast small parts and large steel structures like tanks and hull plates.
• Abrade metal surfaces and mix paints to match specs with dedicated equipment.
• Mask, prime, caulk and apply coatings using spray guns, brushes and rollers.
• Inspect coverage and maintain spraying equipment and safety practices.
