Job summary

Professional Piping Systems, LLC is seeking qualified industrial painters to join our PPS Coatings team in the Phoenix, AZ area. The role emphasizes strict PPE use, surface inspection, debris removal, masking, and accurate coating application with data-sheet guidance.

Candidates will demonstrate the ability to coat large areas quickly with minimal rework and perform routine maintenance on spray equipment. Responsibilities include evaluating surfaces, calculating WFT for desired DFT, and ensuring

Qualifications

Wears PPE at all times; follows safety protocols.
Inspects surfaces to identify imperfections or damages.
Removes old paint and debris by sanding, scraping, or pressure washing.
Repairs cracks/holes with appropriate materials; applies masking to protect areas.
Demonstrates ability to coat 1000 sq ft with 2% or less rework in 1 hour; maintains productivity.
Sets up, tears down, and cleans paint application equipment.
Understands spray tip numbers and their impact on spray pattern.
Mixes coatings according to data sheets.
Operates and can repair Plural Machine; performs preventative maintenance on pumps, hoses and guns.
Identifies coating defects and corrects them; calculates WFT to achieve target DFT.
Measures WFT with a wet film gauge.
Knows SP-1, SP-2, SP-3, SP-5, SP-6, SP-7, SP-10, SP-11, SP-13, SP-15.
Performs blast to SP-10 for 150 sq ft within 1 hour.

Responsibilities

Wear PPE at all times and follow safety protocols.
Use a wet film thickness gauge for coating applications.
Inspect and evaluate surfaces for imperfections or damages.
Remove old paint, dirt, or debris via sanding, scraping, or pressure washing.
Repair cracks, holes, or surface imperfections with proper materials.
Apply masking to protect adjacent areas from overspray or drips.
Demonstrate coating 1000 sq ft with 2% rework or less in 1 hour; no holidays.
Set up, tear down, and clean Paint Application Equipment properly.
Demonstrate knowledge of Airless Spray Tip codes and usage.
Mix coatings according to provided data sheets.
Operate and repair Plural Machine; perform preventative maintenance checks on pumps, hoses, and guns.
Identify coating defects and implement corrections; calculate required WFT for target DFT.
Measure WFT using a wet film gauge.
Identify SP-1, SP-2, SP-3, SP-5, SP-6, SP-7, SP-10, SP-11, SP-13, SP-15.
Blast 150 sq ft to SP-10 in 1 hour; inspect nozzle circumference wear.
Check blast hose: gasket wear, coupling integrity; ensure proper maintenance.
Troubleshoot and repair field equipment (Blast pot, Dust collector, Vacuum).
