Job summary

Apache Workforce is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter / Coater to prepare and apply protective coatings to fabricated steel and industrial equipment. The role requires hands-on use of spray equipment, surface prep, and attention to finish quality in a fabrication environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning and masking surfaces, measuring and mixing coatings, applying via airless or conventional spray, inspecting for defects, and maintaining equipment while following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Previous industrial painting experience in fabrication/manufacturing.
• Experience applying epoxy, polyurethane, primers, and protective coatings.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot industrial spray equipment.
• Read work instructions and coating specifications.
• Detail-oriented with reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, sanding, grinding, and removing rust.
• Mask and protect surfaces not to be painted.
• Mix paints, primers, epoxies, and other coatings per instructions.
• Apply coatings using airless or conventional spray equipment, brushes, and rollers.
• Follow specifications for coating systems and film thickness.
• Monitor mixing ratios, pot life, drying times, and recoat windows.
• Inspect finished work for coverage and defects; touch up as needed.
• Operate and maintain spray guns, hoses, pumps, and related equipment.
• Follow safety procedures for chemical handling, PPE, and ventilation.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and meet production/quality targets.
