Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking a hands-on Painter / Material Handler in York, PA, for a contract-to-hire role. The job combines painting duties with material handling, crane operation, and rigging in a fast-paced shop.

You will read measurements, operate forklifts, and perform safety procedures to support production. The position requires transporting materials, adapting to changing tasks, and maintaining PPE standards while meeting production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Previous painting experience and knowledge of painting techniques.
• Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, or similar industrial equipment.
• Experience with rigging and loading/unloading materials.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
• Ability to pass a respiratory fit test.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
• Comfortable performing a variety of duties in a fast-paced shop environment.
• Knowledge of industrial safety procedures and proper PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Perform industrial painting tasks, approximately 20% of the role
• Operate overhead cranes to move materials and support production
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
• Perform rigging activities for equipment and materials
• Use a tape measure and other measuring tools accurately
• Operate forklifts and other industrial equipment as needed
• Complete respiratory fit testing and follow required safety procedures
• Assist with various production and shop duties as assigned
• Adapt to changing tasks and support different areas of the operation
• Follow PPE requirements and safe handling procedures when working with chemicals and equipment
