Job summary

Defense Logistics Agency is seeking a Painter to perform the full range of journeyman painting tasks on machine tools and industrial equipment. You will operate paint prep, bead blasting and spray-painting systems, applying primers and finishes to meet thickness and decorative requirements.

Work is indoors in dedicated facilities; duties include lifting up to 50–75 pounds and maintaining protective gear. A valid driver’s license and forklift license may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience painting and surface finishing with various coating materials.
• Ability to operate spray-painting equipment and maintain quality and thickness requirements.
• Comfort working in indoor industrial environments with protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform journeyman-level painting tasks on machine tools and equipment.
• Operate and maintain paint preparation and bead blasting facilities.
• Apply coatings with brushes, rollers, spray guns to meet texture, thickness, and finish requirements.
• Set up and operate spray-painting equipment (air spray, airless, etc.).
• Ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Protect surfaces, remove defects, and finish damaged guards as needed.
• Maintain safety devices in paint booth and related facilities.
• Possess valid driver's license and forklift license as required.
