Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Painter Blaster to prepare surfaces through abrasive blasting and apply protective coatings to structural steel and equipment. The role requires experience with surface preparation, industrial painting techniques, and strict adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities include blasting, rust removal, coating application, inspection, equipment maintenance, and accurate record‑keeping.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in abrasive blasting and industrial/commercial painting preferred.
• Knowledge of surface preparation standards and coating applications.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, specifications, and safety procedures.
• Experience operating blasting equipment, spray painting equipment, and related tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform abrasive blasting, sandblasting, and surface preparation activities.
• Remove rust, scale, old paint, and contaminants from various surfaces.
• Apply primers, paints, epoxy coatings, and protective finishes according to project specifications.
• Inspect surfaces before and after blasting and painting to ensure quality standards are met.
• Operate and maintain blasting and painting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and job site requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed.
• Work effectively with supervisors, project managers, and crew members.
• Perform general labor duties as assigned.
