Job summary

Onboarding Resource, LLC is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter / Blaster in Houston. You will perform surface prep, abrasive blasting, and apply protective coatings to piping, steel structures, and equipment. The role requires hands-on experience with two-part coatings, epoxies, urethanes, and zincs, with strong attention to coating specifications and safety.

The position emphasizes detail, adherence to procedures, and quality assurance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of industrial painting, blasting, coating principles and techniques.
• Experience with scaffolding, rigging, access equipment and safety gear.
• Ability to read charts, technical paint specs, and coating data.
• Strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot painting equipment.
• Experience with two-part coatings and quality control requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation and protective coating applications.
• Operate blasting and spray-painting equipment.
• Perform abrasive blasting and surface prep with hand/power tools.
• Prepare and mix primers, paints, and specialty coatings.
• Use thinners, solvents, and additives as required.
• Set spray pressures, nozzles, and settings per coating needs.
• Monitor cure times and environmental conditions for proper coatings.
• Mask or protect surfaces not to be coated.
• Apply primers, paints, and coatings with various application methods.
• Inspect finished surfaces for defects and perform touch-ups.
• Follow coating specs and quality requirements for each project.
• Move finished products to inspection/shipping areas.
• Maintain spray and blasting equipment and PPE.
• Notify when materials need replenishment; coordinate with bead blast area.
