Job summary

The Systems Group in El Dorado, AR is seeking an energetic Industrial Sandblaster/Painter to support our coatings operations. You will apply coatings using spray systems and brush/roller methods, prepare surfaces, and ensure quality through gauges and readings.

You will read blueprints, operate spray guns and blast pots, and maintain safety around heavy equipment. This role requires experience and a commitment to safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience with progressive responsibility in painting and coatings.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches or drawings.
• Experience with epoxy or polyurethane coatings preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Apply coatings through conventional, airless and plural spray systems.
• Paint with brush and roll; prepare surfaces and clean tools.
• Operate blast pots and spray guns; read drawings/blueprints.
• Read coating thickness gauges and related reports.
• Safe operation of construction tools; grind, sand, polish surfaces.

Job: Industrial Sandblaster/Painter

Location: El Dorado, AR

Pay: Up to $26/Hour

The Systems Group is looking for an energetic individual to be our next Painter/Sandblasting teammate. We are looking for someone to help with the day-to-day issues that pop up but to also be part of the big picture and contribute to the long-term strategy of our operations across the country. Industrial Sandblaster/ Painter Responsibilities:

• Apply coatings through conventional, airless, and plural spray systems
• Apply paint with a brush and roll
• Operate various types of equipment such as blast pots and spray guns
• Knowledge of various painting methods and applications
• Spray with consistent millage
• Knowledge of various blasts
• Prepare surfaces
• Mix paints to desired colors and consistencies
• Understanding or reading of drawings and/or blueprints
• Safe operation of construction tools and equipment
• Grinding, sanding, and polishing
• Painting, caulking, and sealing

Industrial Sandblaster/ Painter Skills:

• Ability to apply all types of coatings using various application methods
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings
• Ability to read coating thickness gages, surface profile gages, dew point meters, soluble salt testers, hardness or ultrasonic thickness gages and complete the associated reports
• Ability to operate Heavy Equipment

Experience Requirements

• Experience of progressive responsibility in painting and/or coatings.
• Understand the difference between SP5 and SP6 for blasting purposes
• Experience and ability with conventional spray systems, airless spray systems, and plural spray systems.
• Experience and ability applying paint with brush and roll
• Experience with epoxy, polyurethane, and high-solids coatings is preferred
• Proficient in the application and use of plural spray systems is preferred
• Training and ability to operate a man lift, work at heights, and swing stage training
• Knowledge of utilizing a forklift for loading/unloading trucks
• Other duties as assigned
• Previous structural welding experience in an industrial setting is preferred
• OSHA Approved Met-Guard boots (annual company allowance provided)
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
