Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking a Paint Preparation & Masking specialist in Wisconsin. Responsibilities include surface prep, masking, and applying coatings using airless spray systems to ensure proper adhesion and finish.

You will inspect surfaces, mix two-part coatings, and maintain coating thickness while documenting batch data and environmental conditions. Safety protocols and PPE must be followed in daily work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or 2–3 years hands-on manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation: cleaning, sanding, grinding, degreasing for coating adhesion.
• Apply masking materials to protect surfaces per drawings or standards.
• Inspect surfaces before painting to verify readiness and address deficiencies.
• Mix two-part coatings per manufacturer specs, including ratios and pot life.
• Load and operate airless spray systems to apply primers and finishes.
• Maintain consistent coating thickness, appearance, and coverage; perform touch-ups as needed.
• Set up and safely operate airless spray systems, pressure pots and related equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE for respirators and protective clothing.
• Inspect finished parts for defects and document batch data and environmental conditions.
• Comply with OSHA/EPA safety and environmental standards.
