Job summary

Doral Corporation, Milwaukee, WI, is seeking skilled painters to apply surface coatings to structural steel and metal components. You will operate airless or air-powered spray systems, maintain equipment, and support painting and assembly processes as needed.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of related experience and a high school diploma. The role offers multiple shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits in a family-owned environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma and two to three years related experience.
  • Experience in structural steel painting is a large plus.
  • Ability to operate welding equipment, forklift, hoists and various hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Apply surface coatings to parts using a handheld spray gun following established practices.
  • Visually inspect parts before and after painting for prep, runs, or missed spots.
  • Handle and dispose of waste materials per safety directions.
  • Clean and maintain paint guns and related parts.
  • Learn all aspects of painting and fill in when needed.
  • Operate paint equipment and manage workflow of parts.
  • Repair nicks or imperfections in the finish as directed.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow safety procedures.
  • Submit requests and supporting documentation as needed.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment.

Compensation: $20.75 - $32.00 per hour
Hiring for all shifts! 1st, 2nd, and 3.

The painter uses airless and or air powered paint system, maintains worksite and equipment, and fills in anywhere in the painting or assembly process as needed. Painting of structural steel and other custom fabricated metal components. Experience in structural steel painting/ sheet metal painting is a large plus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Apply surface coatings to completed parts using handheld spray gun following established paint shop practices.

2. Visually check parts before painting to ensure part prep and after painting for paint runs and light or missed spots.

3. Ensure the proper handling and disposal of waste materials as directed by safety officer.

4. Clean and maintain paint gun and related parts.

5. Learn all aspects of the painting process and be able fill in for any position as directed by shop foreman.

6. Operate paint equipment and machines, handle hazardous material, and manage workflow of parts.

7. Correct work as directed; repair nicks, scratches or other small imperfections in the finish.

8. Clean up work areas, equipment, supplies and materials; apply standard safety practices and procedures.

9. Prepare and submit requests and supportive documentation

10. Perform a variety of routine and preventive maintenance.

Education and/or Experience

Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma and two to three years related experience.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Qualifications

Requires the ability to operate various equipment to include welding equipment, forklift, hoists, riggings, and various hand and power tools. Requires a broad knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, welding techniques and maintenance procedures and practices.

Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to lift, push or pull 50 lbs., 75 lbs. on occasion. Ability to use paint gun and use hands and fingers, grip; reach; balance; and talk and hear. Uses close vision for paint inspection. Demonstrates accountability for all safety procedures.
