Job description

Yates Industries is looking for an Industrial Painter in our Austell, GA plant. Yates Industries is a leading manufacturer of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. Responsibilities
  • Deburr, wash, and prepare all cylinders and components for paint.
  • Paint all cylinders with a sprayer using various coatings: primers, epoxy paint, and CARC paint.
  • Remove old paint, rust, grease, dirt and other debris to prepare the cylinders for painting.
  • Mask and protect parts that are not to be painted.
  • Mix paint according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Inspect painted cylinders for quality of workmanship, noting runs, sags, and unpainted areas, and correct them as needed.
  • Operate all equipment safely in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain and wear all PPE in accordance with company policies.
  • Comply with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials; report any deviations to management immediately.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop organized.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to prioritize jobs.
  • Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Mechanical background.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and calipers.
  • Prior industrial painting experience is a must.
  • CARC painting experience preferred.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually loud.
