Job summary

SA Recycling in Phenix City, AL, seeks an Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead our metal recycling facility's daily operations, maintenance, and safety program. You will report to the General Manager and ensure equipment reliability, production efficiency, and safe work practices for our shredder and downstream plant.

Qualifications

Engineering background with Mechanical/Maintenance/Production focus.
Ability to operate PLCs and troubleshoot controls.
Experience with motors, hydraulics, conveyors, and electrical systems.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Engineering degree preferred in industrial/ mechanical fields.

Responsibilities

Oversee shredder operation and maintenance for safety and reliability.
Lead the recycling yard team and coordinate labor activities.
Monitor system gauges to prevent equipment damage.
Inspect critical shredder components daily for readiness.
Diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Respond to emergencies with proper safety protocols.
Adapt daily priorities to changing yard conditions.
