Job summary

Austin Industrial is hiring a Millwright for an on-site, full-time role in Des Moines, IA. You will diagnose mechanical failures, repair industrial equipment, and support preventative maintenance across manufacturing environments. This position requires 3–5 years of journeyman experience and strict safety standards.

Work 40 hours weekly with no per diem or relocation funding. Benefits include medical, dental, life and disability insurance, and a 401(k) plan with company match.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Journeyman level experience.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening and background check.
• This is a full-time, 40-hour week position with no relocation funding.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and industrial mechanical equipment.
• Replace defective parts and align moving parts.
• Tests, repairs, or installs mechanical units such as water pumps, governors, distributors, brakes, and clutches.
• Replaces bearings, chains, sprockets, and other machine parts.
• Rebuilds pumps, cylinders, and various mechanical equipment per SOPs.
• Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, and precision instruments.
• Fabricates repair parts as needed.
• Must wear PPE and operate safely; work at heights as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
