Austin Industrial is seeking a Millwright for an on-site, full-time role in Des Moines, IA. The position requires 3-5 years of journeyman level experience and involves diagnosing and repairing industrial mechanical equipment, alignment, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience – 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening and background check, as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and industrial mechanical equipment.
• Replace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
• Tests, repairs, or installs mechanical units, such as water pumps, fuel pumps, governors, distributors, carburetors systems, brakes, clutches, and other such devices.
• Replaces bearings, chains, sprockets, and a variety of other machine parts.
• Rebuild pumps, cylinders, and various mechanical equipment as necessary following standard operating procedures.
• Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
• Fabricates repair parts if necessary.
• Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment.
