Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is seeking skilled workers to install, remove, or modify machinery and equipment for heavy industrial applications. Duties include interpreting drawings, moving and aligning equipment, and assembling foundations using hand and power tools.

Candidates should be prepared for long shifts and overtime, with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy. We offer compensation at $31.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including retirement options

Qualifications

• 3-4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations
• When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors
• Set a personal example of safe behavior
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's and ability to perform these operations using units weight measurement and volume
• Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
• Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards
• Other may duties may be assigned

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret measuring tools such as tape measure, speed square, framing square to perform tasks accurately
• Fully understand Plant North and drawing coordinates
• Assist in moving machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
• Assist in assembling and installing various types of equipment and machinery using hand tools and power tools
• Assist in constructing foundations for machinery and equipment using building materials such as wood, cement, and steel
• Assist in motor and equipment alignment using various methods and tools including feeler gauges, squares, rules, micrometers, plum bobs, dial indicators, laser alignment
• Assist in grinding, filing, and tuning machine parts to dimensional specs
• Work in other crafts as directed by supervision and take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman
• Support project with other tasks as directed by supervision
• Communicate with Foreman regarding problems, materials required, or hazards noted
• Work different shifts and overtime as required
• Work under production schedule pressure
• Attain set standards of accuracy
• Perform duties safely
