Job summary

PPG Barberton/Norton, OH is seeking a Maintenance Millwright & Equipment Rebuilder to keep mechanical systems performing at peak efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will install, repair, and maintain facility machinery, diagnose faults, and perform preventive maintenance while upholding 5S, safety, and quality standards. Second or third shift options available with overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience; chemical environment preferred.
• Certified Maintenance Apprenticeship or Mechanical Institute Certificate.
• Proven pump and gearbox rebuild capability.
• Proficiency reading technical manuals and CAD prints.
• Ability to wear PPE and work in confined spaces or at heights.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, and repair facility machinery and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose and correct faults on building and production equipment.
• Execute PMs on belts, piping, filters, mixers, valves, bearings, motors, gearboxes, dies, extruders, feeders, rolls, drive chains, classifiers, mills, seals, and pumps.
• Troubleshoot, proof test, and implement preventive solutions.
• Drive 5S standards for efficiency, cleanliness, and safety.
• Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Find root causes, develop options, and implement fixes within time constraints.
• Complete accurate records and maintenance reports.
• Interpret and work from manuals, blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings.
• Monitor production equipment to detect malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication.
• Work in confined spaces and at heights using ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and roofs.
